Guided Python Hunts in the Florida Everglades

Just a short drive from Fort Myers, you can join Captain Evan Rexroat on a one-of-a-kind adventure deep in the Florida Everglades—hunting invasive Burmese pythons. These massive snakes, which can exceed 20 feet in length, are not native to Florida and have become a serious ecological threat. Since their introduction, they’ve been wreaking havoc on native wildlife populations, including birds, mammals, and even alligators.

Captain Evan, an experienced outdoorsman and committed conservationist, began python hunting in 2021 and has successfully tracked and captured numerous snakes—including a massive 16-footer. His hunts run May through October, when warm nighttime temps make pythons most active. You’ll ride in comfort and safety in a custom python-hunting rig: Evan’s Ford F250 outfitted with a stable spotting stand and high-powered LED light bars for optimal visibility.

These night hunts are thrilling, hands-on, and play a real role in protecting Florida’s fragile ecosystem. Long sleeves, jeans, and boots are strongly recommended—not only for comfort, but for protection from bugs and brush.
